"Synonym of Haworthia retusa (L.) Duval. Species endemic to a very small area of the South Coast of South Africa. Linnaeus originally described it under Aloe retusa in 1753; Medikus transferred it to Catevala. The translucent "windows" are an adaptation for capturing light in semi-shade or partial burial conditions."
