Caruncularia jacquinii Sweet
Jacquin's Caruncularia
Old name (Sweet, 1826) for a stapeliad from southern Africa now transferred to the genus Orbea or Stapelia. Named in honour of Austrian botanist Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquin. The genus Caruncularia has been split with its species redistributed mainly among Orbea and Caralluma.

"Name published by Robert Sweet in Hortus Britannicus (1826). The genus Caruncularia Sweet is a synonym of Orbea Haw. or Stapelia L. under modern classification (APG IV). The currently accepted species is Orbea jacquinii (E.Mey. ex Decne.) Bruyns or a related name depending on the source consulted. Verify in POWO for the current accepted name."
