Catevala asperula Kuntze is a synonym of Haworthia asperula Haw., a rosulate succulent from the Western Cape of South Africa with rough-surfaced, spicular-textured leaves. It is a botanically close species to H. asperiuscula with which it is sometimes confused in collections.
