Caralluma pseudonebrownii Dinter

False N.E. Brown's Caralluma

A Namibian succulent described by Dinter, whose specific name indicates its close relationship and resemblance to 'Caralluma nebrownii', a species with which it was once confused. The prefix 'pseudo-' signals morphological similarity to nebrownii but a distinct taxonomic entity. Inhabits arid biomes of Namibia, growing on granite rock outcrops and stony soils. Stems are robust, erect, clearly quadrangular, dark green to glaucous. Flowers have triangular petals in brownish-purple tones.
