Caralluma leendertziae N.E.Br.
Leendertz's Caralluma
A species described by N.E. Brown and named in honour of Rivett Leendertz (1867–1953), a pioneering South African botanist who collected extensively in the Transvaal in the early 20th century. A medium-sized quadrangular succulent typical of the Transvaal bushveld, growing on rocky outcrops and arid scrublands. Its flowers show the five typical triangular lobes of the genus, brown with creamy or yellowish mottling. Species little known outside specialised South African botanical literature.

"Named in honour of Rivett Leendertz, one of the first professional female botanists in South Africa. Her collections at the National Herbarium in Pretoria laid the foundations for knowledge of the Transvaal flora. The species is uncommon in cultivation; it occasionally appears in catalogues of European collectors specialising in African succulents."
