"'Cacalia tomentosa' Eckl. ex DC. (published in 'Prodromus', 1838) is a synonym of 'Caputia tomentosa' (Haw.) B.Nord. & Pelser. The name 'Caputia tomentosa' uses 'Senecio haworthii' Sch.Bip. as its basionym (not Ecklon/DC). Confusion between both author citations (Haw. and Eckl. ex DC.) is common in older literature. This entry documents the Ecklon/DC authorship separately from RN-CAC-00008 (Cacalia haworthii Sweet)."
