Caputia scaposa var. addoensis is the variety endemic to Addo Elephant National Park and its surroundings in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. It is distinguished from the typical species by its slightly wider and more flattened leaves, and its adaptation to the clay soils of the Eastern Cape lowlands. It is a variety of special conservation interest given its restricted range.
