Cacalia anteuphorbium L.

Cacalia anteuphorbium L. is the historical name for the plant today known as Kleinia anteuphorbium, an erect shrubby succulent reaching 1–2 m in height. Its stems are fleshy, blue-glaucous green, cylindrical and branched in the upper portions. Leaves are deciduous, small and lanceolate, appearing briefly during the wet season. Its flowers, in tubular yellow-to-orange capitula, are highly ornamental. Endemic to the western Canary Islands and northern Morocco.

"The name Cacalia anteuphorbium L. (1753) is a historical synonym. The modern accepted name is Kleinia anteuphorbium (L.) Haw. (1812). The plant was originally described by Linnaeus in his Species Plantarum and later transferred to genus Kleinia by Haworth. It has also been treated as Senecio anteuphorbium (L.) Sch.Bip."
