Stem succulent native to the Deccan Plateau and southern India, originally described by Gravely and Mayuranathan and later recombined by Plowes. Distinguished by its markedly carinate (keeled) stem angles, adapted to rocky slopes and stony soils of semi-arid regions of the subcontinent.
