Caralluma aperta (Masson) N.E.Br.
Cape Open Caralluma
Herbaceous succulent native to South Africa's Cape region. Originally described by Francis Masson as Stapelia aperta and reclassified by N.E. Brown into Caralluma; in modern treatments it is frequently placed in the genus Tromotriche (Tromotriche aperta (Masson) Bruyns). Its flowers are pale yellow-green with purple veins, unusually open and wide for the genus.
