Boucerosia acutangula (Decne.) Decne.

Sharp-angled Caralluma

A creeping or scrambling succulent with sharply angled, quadrangular stems bearing prominent teeth, native to arid zones of India, Pakistan, and parts of Africa (Burkina Faso, Ethiopia). Currently accepted as Desmidorchis retrospiciens. Its small five-petalled flowers range from yellow to dark red with spotting, carrying a characteristic odour that attracts pollinating insects. Used in traditional medicine across its native range.
