Brachystelma caffrum (Schltr.) N.E.Br.

Cape Brachystelma

Perennial tuberous-succulent geophyte native to southern Africa (Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal). Forms a globose underground tuber from which slender trailing stems and star-shaped brownish-red spotted flowers emerge. It has been synonymised with Ceropegia afra, though historically treated as a Brachystelma species.
