Socotra Caralluma
Boucerosia socotrana Balf.f. is a caralluma endemic to Socotra Island (Yemen), one of the world's most biodiverse unique regions and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was described by Isaac Bayley Balfour from collections made in Socotra in the 19th century. Its morphological characteristics are typical of the genus: tetragonal succulent stems and fetid flowers to attract flies.
