Anacampseros telephiastrum DC.

Telephium-like anacampseros

Anacampseros telephiastrum was described by De Candolle and its name alludes to the morphological resemblance of its leaves to the genus Telephium (family Caryophyllaceae). Its rosettes of oblong to spatulate leaves, bright green to reddish-green, are larger than those of other anacampseroids. The pink to magenta flowers, up to 2 cm, are ephemeral as in the entire family: they open for only 2–4 hours on sunny afternoons. It is one of the most common species in European botanical collections.

"A. telephiastrum is the most photographically documented Anacampseros species outside of rufescens, with records in botanical gardens in Helsinki, Wrocław, and France. Its larger size makes it more visible and easier to propagate than other species in the genus."
