Antimima evoluta (N.E.Br.) H.E.K.Hartmann
Evolved antimima
Antimima evoluta is a small clump-forming succulent shrublet native to Namaqualand in the Northern Cape of South Africa. It forms compact mats of short branches with cylindrical glaucous succulent leaves, producing pink to white multi-petalled mesemb flowers. It grows in rocky and stony soils on Namaqualand hillsides, adapted to coastal fogs and arid summers. It was transferred to the genus Antimima from Ruschia following phylogenetic revisions of subfamily Ruschioideae.

"Antimima evoluta was originally described as Ruschia evoluta by N.E. Brown and reclassified by H.E.K. Hartmann in her revision of the Ruschia complex. The epithet 'evoluta' refers to the developed form of its leaves. Distinguished from other Antimima by its relatively longer leaves and particularly glaucous colouration."
