Propagation Strategy
- 1 Sow shallowly on mineral substrate.
- 2 Keep at 22–25 °C under plastic cover.
- 3 Remove cover when germinated; reduce watering gradually.
Tolerates slightly more shade than other Anacampseros, ideal for east-facing windowsills.
Substrate too rich producing elongated leaves that lose the retuse apex.
Every 3–4 years
Once in spring, cactus fertilizer very diluted (25%)

"The retuse leaf apex of A. retusa is unique in the genus. It is thought to reduce the sun-exposed area at peak insolation, functioning as a passive thermoregulation mechanism."
