Aloinopsis cibdela (N.E.Br.) Schwantes
Little Karoo aloinopsis
Species originally described by Nicholas Edward Brown and later transferred to the genus Aloinopsis by Georg Schwantes. Endemic to the Little Karoo, the semi-arid inland basin of the Western Cape. The leaves are longer than in other Aloinopsis in the group, giving it a more robust and striking appearance. The diurnal flowers, intensely yellow with reddish or orange lines in the centre, are among the most showy in the genus.

"The Little Karoo is one of the regions with the highest concentration of endemic geophytic succulents on the planet. The combination of dry calcareous soils, cool winters and very hot dry summers has driven convergent evolution in multiple lineages of taprooted geophytes."
