Aloinopsis setifera (L.Bolus) L.Bolus

Bristle-leaved Aloinopsis

Endemic to the Fraserburg area in the Karoo, this species is distinguished by its leaves bearing stiff bristles or hairs on the margins or apex, a trait giving it its name (setifera = bristle-bearing). Leaves are grey-green, short and very thick. Flowers are yellow with reddish or orange lines. It is one of the smallest in the genus and highly valued by specialist collectors.
