Aloinopsis schooneesii L.Bolus
Schoonees' Aloinopsis
Species from Namaqualand (Scholzkloof) described by Louisa Bolus, honouring botanist P.C. Schoonees. Produces rosettes of grey-green or slightly bluish leaves with a surface covered in small whitish warts. Flowers are yellow-orange with darker lines and have a characteristic silky texture. It is a geophyte and survives in extremely poor, stony soils thanks to its taproot.
