Aloe montana Schinz

Namibian mountain aloe

Aloe montana is a medium-sized rosette species endemic to the Khomas Highland of Namibia, where it grows on rocky slopes at elevations between 1,600 and 2,000 metres. Its leaves are grey-green with brownish marginal teeth, and its orange-red flowers bloom in the austral winter, adding colour to the arid landscape.
