Aloe candelabrum is a majestic single-stemmed arborescent aloe native to KwaZulu-Natal, characterised by its spectacular candelabra inflorescence with multiple floral branches that can reach 2 m in height. Its single, straight trunk clothed in dry leaves can exceed 5 m in mature plants. It is a species of critical ecological importance for sunbirds, bulbuls and weavers of the region.

Lanceolate leaves 60–90 cm long, glaucous-green with reddish margins and brown marginal teeth 4–5 mm, forming a dense terminal rosette.

Propagation Strategy
- 1 Sow fresh seeds in sandy substrate at 22–26 °C.
- 2 Cover lightly and keep moist with mister.
- 3 Germination in 2–4 weeks.
- 4 Transplant to individual pot when stem reaches 5 cm.
- 1 Cut the terminal rosette leaving 10 cm of stem.
- 2 Allow to dry for 5–7 days in a dry, warm environment.
- 3 Plant in highly porous substrate and water minimally.
- 4 Rooting takes 8–12 weeks.
