Bravoa sessiliflora Hemsl.

Sessile-flowered Bravoa

Perennial bulbous geophyte endemic to Mexico (states of Oaxaca, Guerrero and Puebla), growing in pine-oak forests and mountain scrub at altitudes of 1,400–2,800 m. Its tubular orange or orange-red flowers are sessile or nearly sessile on the erect floral scape. Also classified under the genus Polianthes in recent taxonomic treatments.
