Holtz's Commiphora
Shrub or small tree from arid East Africa (Tanzania and Kenya), described by Engler and dedicated to the German explorer and botanist Georg Holtz. Inhabits dry, low-altitude thorn scrublands on sandy or stony soils. Succulent bark characteristic of the genus. It is the type species of a micro-group that includes subspecies microphylla (RN-CMPH-00007).
